RP Thread

Welcome to the 34th AOCAF Cup! This competition, the longest-running regional association football competition in NS, returns to Legalese for the second time in its history. This iteration brings with it a number of new and old names, as well as a unique format, designed to heighten interest and implications for all teams at each level. The Preliminaries open with a power-pairing format, with all twenty-four entrants liable to play any five of their twenty-three opponents.

However, if you're going to play, we do need to know who's playing for you, and that's what this thread is for!

All roster posts should follow in here. In addition to the normal name, rank, and jersey number, I ask for two other important items:

-the first is your style modifier. Unlike most competitions, the AOCAF style modifier will take a slightly different tact, giving a list of six options, as opposed to picking a number. Those options, from most attacking to most defensive, are:

-Takil - the Rejistani word for Attacking. This is the most all-out form of offense, with the goal being to score more than the other team. Takil teams are most likely to see the score line increased upon application - for both sides.

- Attacking - for the offensive-minded team that puts more emphasis on offense than defense, but knows that you can't always win by sending all eleven at the opponent's goal. Attacking teams will most likely see scorelines increase slightly above normal.

-Normal - A very plain vanilla style, Normal is, well, normal. Normal teams will see little-to-no changes in the final scoreline.

-Defensive - for the defensive-minded team that puts more emphasis on defense than offense, but knows that you can't win simply by not letting the opponent score. Defensive teams will most likely see the final score drop a little for both sides.

-Karelan - If it was legal to set all eleven men on the goal line, and do nothing but keep the ball from going into the net, a Karelan team would do just tha- wait, you mean that is legal?! Karelan teams are very likely to see most matches end 1-0 if they win, or 0-0 if they draw.

And, finally, the one oddball style:

-Kamikaze - This, for lack of a better comment, is crazy. Expect either very high or very low scorelines if you use this style, though it's really a coin-flip as to which could happen.

Note that no style will alter the Win-Loss-Draw outcome of the match, as they are applied after scorination. These simply add some adjustments for teams wishing to play a specific style.

Also, please include the following RP permissions, for guidance for your opponents:

Choose my goalscorers Y
Godmod scoring events N
RP injuries to my players Y (Within Reason)
Godmod injuries to my players N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y (Within Reason)
Hand out red cards to my players Y (Within Reason)
Godmod other events N

Note that Style Modifiers posted before MD 1's cutoff (between 9 PM and 11 PM EST on March 3) will take effect for all matches. Any posted afterwards will take effect as soon as they are detected by the host. No team may change their style modifier once it has been posted!

Audioslavia's long-awaited/surprise/unwanted (delete as applicable) return to Nationstates soccer starts here, with the team's foray into the Baptism of Fire tournament to come. The team is selected partly from the handful of amateur teams in Audioslavia one and only population centre, Cathair, but mainly from foreign-born players with a touch of Audioslavian blood inside them, no matter how.

Almost every single one of Audioslavia's players can be described as 'limited journeymen' or 'kids who might not be so rubbish later' at best and, in the case of 16 year-old Errikeshan-born sixth-former Jurk Jaffacake, 'simply the only right-back
we could find in the entire world who could possibly qualify for Audioslavian citizenship.

The only notable exceptions to this rule are Cafundeu-ese born Weverton Sporadic - son of Silexheran superstar Kelly - and young number nine Marc Vauvenargues who, despite not being especially skilful, is at least very fast and has a decent shot on him.

Colgan, Jeroen and Janssens all have the possibility of bright futures ahead of them, too.

In case you couldn't tell from the rather conservative 5-3-1-1 formation, Audioslavia will be using the Karela system.

Audioslavia will play in their traditional colours of claret and green striped shirts (with white pinstripes), white shorts and white socks, with an all-white away kit. You can see this kit, and read more about Audioslavian football, at the wiki page for our national team

Er... playing in a tournament where we were involuntarily volunteered to fill up the mythical "final" spot in an odds versus evens sort of contest, the Nellies of Nellietopia begrudgingly send a team to compete.

The team plays without kits (have you seen a kit-maker that makes unisex singlets with eight sleeves? I think not...), but players may be readily identified by the painted white patterns. For those of you unaware of who or what Nellies are, there is a convenient NSWiki article for you. The team shall compete with 15 players, 11 starters and 4 alternates (one for each position). The roster is as follows:

Goalkeepers

B - The primo don of the nellies, this chap is perhaps one of the biggest monstrosities ever created. His ability to spin a web over the nets in just under eleven seconds is legendary, although we're still not sure if that's legal. Come to think of it, we're not sure why he's called "B", but that's what he puts on his back. Maybe he likes the shape? In any event, his size is enough to frighten even the cutest kittens; how that helps the team remains to be seen.

& - The reserve back-up to "B", just in case things don't work out. And owing to this guy's tiny size, it's probably better just to put someone else on the pitch and forgo having a keeper tending the net.

Defenders

Hello - Hello plays at right back, and he's the speediest little bugger on eight legs. Dribbling is a problem, but his speed is enough to compensate. Passing is a problem, although the good news is that he's got eight legs with which to try something. And if all else fails, he can stick the ball with some sticky silk. Or eat it (that creates other problems apparently though...).

David - Captain of the team, he actually has a name. The only one who has a name, in fact, but I'll be damned he says something that I'll ever understand. He's bigger than the other nellies, but he's still small compared to B. Of the nellies, David has got the leg-power to leap high over the tallest human. The problem then is trying to control that power. Heading is a problem, although he can crotch it just fine surprisingly.

Є601 - Obviously, this chap didn't have a mirror when he wrote his name. Or maybe he just likes looking at things rotated 180 degrees (one π). Less coherent than David but just as effective in the jump, Є601 is almost too eager to go into the tackle and may come out worse than when he went in. So please play nicely.

+ - We thought it was a "t" at first, but "+" was adamant that it was a plus sign... as if it knows what that means anyway... In any event, + is another speedy bugger, patrolling the left side with just as much ruthlessness as "Hello" does on the right. Passing and dribbling are problems, but considering most nellies want to pass to the left, we're just thankful that + doesn't do the same.

555 - Back-up defender, probably best placed in central defense, 555 isn't quite as good at jumping or speeding as any of the other nellies, but he makes up for that by just being mean. If he bites, we'll both be playing down one man (although there was that one time the referee didn't issue a red card... maybe it's because 555 instinctively bit him as well...).

Midfielders

ABC -Speedy right midfielder, he does a much better job at dribbling, such that it's really a marvel he's just a nellie. Eventually, we'll have to admit that he's just a short human with eight legs and no arms. Unfortunately, passing is a problem... for the fans, at least...

XYZ - The more defensive of two centre midfielders, XYZ has exquisite skill at holding the ball. In fact, it gets him in trouble every time he does, because he flies with the ball. Otherwise, speed is fantastic, passing so-so, and leaping needs improvement. He always enjoys long walks on a sunset beach, although this may be because he's hunting around that time anyway.

lulz - The more offensive of two centre midfielders, lulz has surprising strength for a nellie. And it gets him in trouble. He's more likely to grab you than the ball, but when he does play the ball, he's got a thunderous kick that will send anyone in its path flying. And that's a problem, with his poor accuracy.

tongue.gif - tongue.gif is so skilled as a left midfielder, much like +, avoiding that usual tendency to play off to the left (which, if you haven't guessed by now, means playing out of bounds on the left side). tongue.gif skills extends to his ability to play with just the two chelirae, which is ironic, considering as these are the two forefront appendages... Needless to say, he can play with his other eight legs just as fine as well.

984 - To be fair, 984 isn't a good player. He's just here to fill the ranks. In fact, he's more likely to run away in terror. He's terribly frightened of round balls.

Strikers

nub masduhshdshdgsfd - Yeah, we're not sure why he decided to write all of that on his back. But he's got a terrible knack to kick the ball accurately and with power. He's also speedy with the ball, but his headers need improvement. He's also prone to acting out ferocious temper tantrums (at least, that's what we think they are...).

harro - If you crossed a nellie with a harvestman, this is what you'd get - a long-legged nellie. Really, we think he just lifted weights a bit too much, and by process of biomagnification, his legs grew out. [ed. note: that's not what biomagnification means] Anyway, he's fast, agile, and technically gifted, but tripping opponents is an unfortunate hazard.

o_0 - o_0 is actually really gifted, perhaps the best player on the team. So why isn't he in the starting line-up? He thinks we're playing rugby and refuses to shoot under the bar.

Manager
The team is managed by a scared custodian. The nellies themselves play Kamikrazy style.

RP Permissions
RPing is strongly encouraged. Just don't kill everyone.

"Fine, We'll take them with us too..."

Vilita & Turori Eel Cat Things

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 91 ] Aranora Jaded [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.50 Average Rating ]
Jaded was given a great confidence boost by the decision of the coaching staff to sell Jaqe Planst to Cednia Beach AFC. The two young keepers were fighting for the right to be the next Arcticala starting keeper, and Jaded won that job, leading Arcticala to the Tropical Trophy title in Season 27 - on penalty kicks, against his opposite number Planst who was making his first start for Cednia Beach since leaving Arcticala.

[ 1 ] Ronji Miiastara [ - Marine Coast (Vilita) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Miiastara joined Marine Coast United in Vilita for their V-League 27 campaign in the Declasse, just the second ever for the club at that level. Miiastara was tasked with keeping the ball out of the net, and he did just that, helping lead Marine Coast United back to the Stellar Division at the first attempt leading up to V-League 28.

[ 90 ] Jaqe Planst [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.00 Average Rating ]
Planst was acquired by Cednia Beach AFC after playing just 1 match in Season 26 for Arcticala Inlet. Planst helped the Turorian side to second place in the VLeague 27 table and a return to UICA Competitions. A poor showing during the AOCL V in which Cednia Beach were eliminated in the group stage likely kept Planst out of any contention for a National Team spot during World Cup 58 Qualifiers, although, as a highly skilled keeper, Planst was still invited to the training camp.

[ 85 ] Nycflala Kater [ - Strike FC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 36 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.71 Average Rating ]
Descended of former National Team goalkeeper Jimmy Kater, who took over the starting position on the National Team under the intense spotlight of the World Cup 17 Finals in Vilita and remained first choice keeper for the majority of Vilitan national competition in subsequent seasons before joining the coaching staff for World Cup 31. Nycflala made his full debut for the Vilita National Team during World Cup 57 where he was named the starter in 14 of Vilitas 16 qualification matches. Kater performed strongly with 6 shutouts and a 5.86 average rating. Many claim that the focus on the World Cup 57 Qualifying campaign distracted Strike players such as Kater from performing well domestically in VLeague 26. Kater ensured there would be no dissapointment in VLeague 27 leading Strike comfortably to both the League and Cup titles.

[ 92 ] Jungrii Canopii [ - Eastal Lunar - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 11 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 4.83 Average Rating ]
Canopii spent most of World Cup 57 Qualifications on the bench, earning three substitute appearances in official matches, though he was named starter for the mid-qualification charity match against Akbarabad to raise money for big cats, where he made 11 saves. Despite spending most of the campaign as the primary backup, Canopii was not given the opportunity to start when #1 keeper Kater missed two matches, leading doubts as to whether he is looked upon as a serious canadidate for the starting role in the future. After starting at the Inland Academy then signing for Inland Peaks, Canopii left the home-town club when they were relegated from the Stellar Division after Season 26, joining cross-range rivals Eastal Lunar.

DEFENDERS:

[ 66 ] Sipaao Vereaoao [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- D L ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.00 Average Rating ]
A product of the Inland Academy, Vereaoao has played in both Vilita & Turori, but committed his future to the Jungle Cats when featuring for them as a half time substitute against Nitrome Island during World Cup 57 qualifying. Vereaoao left long-time home Inland Peaks after they failed to achieve promotion from the Declasse during VLeague 27. Vereaoao signed for Marine Coast United, who had earned promotion in addition to a place in International Competitions

[ 64 ] Uajiala Pulkki [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 13 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.08 Average Rating ]
Pulkki is a descendent of former Inland Peaks FC defender Pasi Pulkki, and many are saying he could even be better then his ancestors. Pulkki unfortunately lasted barely 22 minutes in his competitive debut against Ipeland in World Cup 57 qualifying, but has put in some more impressive performances since. Like many of his teammates, Pulkki left Inland Peaks after their relegation in VLeague 26, and headed over to Eastal Lunar. Pulkki was a star for Eastal during VLeague 27 earning a transfer to former champions Cednia Beach AFC for VLeague 28.

[ 94 ] Miiara Makose [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 40 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.62 Average Rating ]
Makose has Druidan blood, though has been diluted through multiple generations. He was trained as a goalkeeper in Turori but did not want to be stuck in the shadows of Nycflala Kater, so switched over to the defensive role when joining the Strike Academy. The transition was clearly justified as Makose was one of the top performing players in World Cup 57 qualifying, carrying a 6.65 average rating while appearing in 14 of Vilita's 16 group matches. Makose was also part of Strike's dominating VLeague 27 performances winning the League and Cup titles with the club.

[ 9 ] Ritopa Simafela [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 15 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.63 Average Rating ]
Ritopa was a standout product of the Lunar Academy and was named as one of the captains of Vilita's World Cup 57 Qualifying Squad. The son of a Rocket Scientist and a Physicist, Simafela is already well educated and is in no way reliant on a career in sports. However, strong performances during his debut qualifying campaign including a 6.05 average rating and 2 goals spurred transfer inquiries from foreign clubs and comparisons to Vilitan greats like Enzo Ahat and Ricky Ezis. Simafela transferred to Strike FC for VLeague 27 and was an instrumental part of their double success in the League and Cup.

[ 2 ] Yoains Konoaafeo [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Konoaafeo was the top defensive product of the Yeaddin Academy and was expected to be part of the Vilitan national team set up due to this fact. However, after not being capped during World Cup 57 Qualifying, and learning of Turori's intention to enter World Cup 58, Konoaafeo switched allegiances both for club and country. After playing half of V-League 26 with the Kionao Locals, Konoaafeo moved to Cednia Beach AFC where he would lead the Coconut Kickers to their second V-League championship, being named Turorian player of the season in the process.

[ 68 ] Kadi Molali [ - Eastal Lunar - ]
------- D R ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 39 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.80 Average Rating ]
Molali has the ability to make stunning runs up the right side of the field and has put together exciting 'from-nothing' goal scoring opportunities in weekly scrimmage matches. Molali was an exciting prospect for the Turoki Academy who was solid, but not exceptional during World Cup 57 Qualifying, making 13 appearances and scoring 1 goal. After joining multiple clubs, including Strike FC, Molali left the VLeague abrubtly in the middle of VLeague 26. After some time off, Molali returned, signing for Eastal Lunar FC and completing a strong VLeague Season 27.

[ 8 ] Ricata Amakra [ - Orbital Kickers - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
The product of the Alikka-Corra Academy is a defender being compared locally with former Alikki-Corra FC defender Emarka Laniora. While he doesn't yet share the same ability to charge up either wing with the ball, his solid defensive skills should see him earn some playing time with the National Team. Amakra has been a star performer in the Non-Leagues with the Orbital Kickers.

[ 3 ] Lioniaa Tana [ - Eastal Lunar (Vilita) - ]
------- D/DM LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Tana is one of the most athetlically skilled defensive players in the Turorian arsenal, although Tana's weakness shines in technical areas like heading and man to man marking. After starting their career at Vilitan side Rammsissil, Tana moved to Eastal Lunar FC during V-League 27.

[ 67 ] Eda Shindhi [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 6 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.53 Average Rating ]
Shindhi is a player in the mold of former Marine Coast defensive stalwarts Ade Hinds and Sibusiso Azaiez. While Shindhi still has some development to go before realizing his full potential, it is expected that he will continue to get a run out from time to time as his skills progress. Shindhi made his competitive debut in defeat against Brendino the 3rd during World Cup 57 Qualifying but did not impress in that performance. After being trainined at the Coastal Academy, Shindhi signed his first professional contract with Marine Coast United. However, relegation was not acceptable to Shindhi, who left the club for VLeague 27, signing with the reigning champions at the time, Cednia Beach AFC.

DEFENSIVE MID:

[ 39 ] Tujamu Treola [ - Tivali United - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 6 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.33 Average Rating ]
A product of the Strike Academy, Tujamu Treola excels both defensively in the midfield, and with his head both defensively and on corner kicks. Treola made his competitive debut in World Cup 57 qualifying against West Zirconia, but has never signed a professional contract.

[ 22 ] Restiaa Mumamba [ - Yeaddin Owls (Vilita) - ]
------- ATH ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Mumamba has been the definition of a versatile player for Vilita's Yeaddin Owls since joining them for the V-League 27 season from Jlinal Cove FC. Mumamba has played in every position from Central Defender to Striker, scoring a game winning goal in one game and a game saving tackle in the next. Mumamba is an expert choice for a third sub or to allow tactical changes on the pitch without substitutions being made.

[ 36 ] Retiso Buran [ - Strike FC - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 40 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.44 Average Rating ]
Retiso Buran was the top prospect at the Sile Academy specializing in the defensive midfield role once made famous by Jürgen Ramzi. Buran is a ferocious player who some has said can be seen with teeth gritted ready to pounce as the attacking side approaches. Appearing almost exclusively during World Cup 57 qualifying, Buran missed only one game and scored 2 goals during the campaign. Burans perofmances both for the National Team and for Makosile earned him a transfer to Strike FC for Season 27, where he earned the Vilitan Stellar Divisions top goalscorer award for the second consecutive season, the first time ever achieved by a midfielder.

[ 38 ] Dronik Ratuva [ - Morata Valley - ]
------- DM RLC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Dronik Ratuva was an exciting prospect from the Valley Academy, who is also able to move wide to defensively cover the wings when 2 or 3 central defenders are used. Ratuva helped Morata Valley earn promotion to the Stellar Division during VLeague 26.

MIDFIELDERS:

[ 53 ] Resaie Kentiak [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 28 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.53 Average Rating ]
Kentiak is a product of the Coastal Academy who has played a substitute role in the center of midfield for the Vilitan National Team.

[ 51 ] Steffyn Siazzu [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 41 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.52 Average Rating ]
An exciting prospect from the Yeaddin Academy, Siazzu plays behind the strikers in a clean up or attacking role atop the midfield. Despite not scoring during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Siazzu was an important presence.

[ 27 ] Rexii Tzikas [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 41 :: GOALS::SR: 6 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.20 Average Rating ]
Tzikas was the top propsect of the Arcticala Academy, and one of the most highly rated players in the Vilitan National Team pool entering World Cup 57 Qualifiers. The Tzikas name has some history in Vilitan Sport, formerly, Toby Tzikas was a midfielder on the National Team, though he was less known than other former Vilitan Stars as he played his club football in Starblaydia. Rexii was the only Vilitan player to start every single match during qualifications for World Cup 57. His presence was strong averaging a 6.01 rating with 2 goals. Tzikas strong performances also were reflected domestically scoring 9 goals in 2 seasons with Turoki Tide before transferring to Cednia Beach for VLeague 28 season.

[ 21 ] Jomur Hulyer [ - Strike FC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 42 :: GOALS::SR: 8 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.60 Average Rating ]
A decsendent of the exciting Marine Coast and Yeaddin midfielder Jonjo Hulyer, Jomur has been compared heavily to his ancestors and even carries the same squad number. Unlike Jonjo, however, Jomur was trained at the Yeaddin Academy. Hulyer would soon become the quickest player to ever represent all three of the original Vilitan Dynasties, signing his first professional contract with Marine Coast United before transferring to Strike for VLeague 28.

[ 7 ] Rikko Rawaii [ - Arcticala Inlet (Vilita) - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Rawaii's dribbling ability coupled with lightning pace make him a threat any time he touches the ball, to create something even from nothing with a few quick moves. Rawaii is not known so much as a goalscorer, instead, an opportunity creator.

[ 74 ] Jian Lejsrma [ - Strike FC - ]
------- AM RL ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 18 :: GOALS::SR: 5 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.62 Average Rating ]
Lejsrma is a speed demon who was trained at the Strike Academy. The most dynamic and pacey winger in the Vilitan system, he is expected to be a great player for many seasons to come. At this stage in his development, he may get overlooked as he works more on his technique and vision, but with experience, he will learn these skills. Lejsrma has been an important part of Strike FC's VLeague successes

[ 17 ] Cediici Tzatzos [ - Strike FC (Vilita) - ]
------- M R ( AGE: 22 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
A determined winger, Tzatzos is a product of the Strike Academy and has remained a bit-part player for the club since the Vilitan League resumed for Season 26.

[ 55 ] Viliaka Morasita [ - Inland Peaks FC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 26 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.66 Average Rating ]
Morasita was the top prospect coming out of the Tivali Academy, playing central and left midfield. His sure footed tackling ability is noted but he is a well balanced midfielder. After playing a season and a half professionally for Alikki-Corra, Morasita joined the Vilitan League with Inland Peaks FC midway through VLeague 27.

[ 70 ] Aniara Jiurjai [ - Strike FC - ]
------- M RLC ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 15 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.66 Average Rating ]
Jiurjai was trained in Turori but declared for Vilita after being called upon for World Cup 57 Qualifying. Jiurjai can play both central and outside midfield and can use both feet equally well. After declaring for Vilita, Jiurjai moved from Turori to Turoki to play with the Turoki Tide. Strong performances during VLeague 26 earned Jiurjai a transfer to Strike for VLeague 27 where the midfielder was instrumental to Strike's League and Cup double.

[ 13 ] Vrotaoa Lorasoiba [ - Arcticala Inlet (Vilita) - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Lorasoiba's impressive performances for Turoki United, including 5 goals during the V-League 26 season, earned a high-value transfer to top Vilitan side Arcticala Inlet AFC. While it took Lorasoiba some time to get settled into life on the big Island, Lorasoiba's performances were enough to get an invitation to the Turori National Training camp for World Cup 58.

FORWARDS:

[ 17 ] Viji-mara Lawaai [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 30 :: GOALS::SR: 7 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.48 Average Rating ]
Trained at the Strike Academy, Lawaai has excelled at shooting from long range, and making space on the edge of the penalty area with crafty turns, and may produce opportunities for free kicks if he wears down the opposition approaching the box. Lawaii made 8 substitute appearances during World Cup 57 qualifying, making his competitive debut against Krytenia, but failed to find the scoresheet.

[ 49 ] Xcnaio Bansoa [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 7 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.19 Average Rating ]
Bansoa was a training partner of Sirkii Moliaudo at the Coastal Academy, and many believed that Moliaudo's prowess in front of goal was due solely to his close partnership with Bansoa. After not being called to the line during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Bansoa decided it was time for a change, breaking ties with Moliaudo and Marine Coast United, signing for Arcticala Inlet in the Stellar Division. Bansoa featured frequently for the Jungle Cats during the World Cup 58 Campaign, performing well, but scoring no goals, relegating him from the top selection in the subsequent Cup of Harmony held in Vilita and New Montreal States

[ 13 ] Yves Gadois [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 5 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.29 Average Rating ]
Gadois became a hot topic in Vilita after rising to glory as the spearhead for Strike FC's Vleague 27 championship, with 8 league goals and an incredibly 6 goals in the Vilitan Cup. Gadois, a product of the Inland Academy, earned an invitation to the National Team Training camp for the first time in the build up to World Cup 58.

[ 8 ] Liinai Zakazaka [ - Jlinal Cove FC (Vilita) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Zakazaka joined Jlinal Cove FC for the V-League 27 season and gained some attention back in Turori for their contribution to the 'Cove's impressive top-4 finish in the final standings

[ 44 ] Erocka Lorei [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 16 :: GOALS::SR: 8 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.45 Average Rating ]
The top attacking prospect at the Kiiara Academy, Erocka Lorei was expected to get quite a few chances to impress on the national stage during World Cup 57 Qualifying and did not dissapoint, leading the Vilitan team in goals scored with 5 in the competition despite only featuring in 11 out of 16 matches. Lorei claims to be a penalty kick specialist but has not been known for his aerial ability. Lorei signed professionally for Declasse side Liguon Valley during Season 26, but moved on to the Stellar Division during Season 27 with Makosile.

[ 9 ] Anuh Ciniima [ - Morata Valley (Vilita) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 7 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Ciniima was born in Turori to Misrantian parents before moving to Vilita to study and train for his sporting career. The unselfish striker joined Morata Valley after their promotion to the Stellar Division for Season 27 as a compliment to Turorian Striker Loala Kigoouao. Ciniima, while able to put the ball in the net when needed, has shown to be an expert decision maker, recording twice as many assists as goals inside the box.

[ 43 ] Kristofer Kilpter [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 41 :: GOALS::SR: 7 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.26 Average Rating ]
Kilpter is joint Vilitan & Turori national, but declared to play for Vilita, with the lure of World Cup competition in Vilita's entry into World Cup 57 the key decision maker after the Turorian side was not entered. Kilpter netted 4 times during the World Cup 57 campaign but missed three matches due to an undisclosed injury. After struggling to win silverware with the Yeaddin Owls, Kilpter made the Largest Transfer in V-League history (12.7 kT) to Turorian side Cednia Beach. The transfer was more than double the 4.5kT previous transfer record in the Vilitan League, which was also payed by Cednia Beach to Yeaddin (for Antonis Siazzu).

Home Away Third

Manager
Seydiya At’rod’uin (Andossa Se Mitrin Vega) (F)
Age: 29
A young Vegan who seems a brilliant tactician in the making. The youngest person to have ever filled a role in the Vanorian national team system, she was appointed manager after Sloan's failure to get to the quaterfinal stage in back to back tournaments. In her first tenure as the manager, she managed to get the Marauders back to the Semifinals of the World Cup.

Assistant Manager
Clin Massai
Age: 10, 794
The mind behind Hondo FC's rise to power, he looks to be another one of the assistants who plays mediator between the manager and the staff.

Keeper

1 GK Mariaddren Undodhen, Vincanto (Erathore) ~
Age - 815
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 174 lbs
Undodhen has proved to be a steady and reliable keeper for the national team, though prone to the occasional howler. It is likely this proneness that has kept Undodhen from moving to a larger squad either domestically or abroad and could be a reason for Dart to finally get his chance between the woodwork.

Defenders

17 Hanutaut Lilithian, Soldarian FC
Age - 612
Sex - F
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 154 lbs
Agile and a superb little bit of tackling skill are her best attributes and she uses them well to confound attacking players into making plays that they would rather not.

12 Dwier Titenburg Jr, Royal Khaldoon (Queer Poco el Mono Ara)
Age - 427
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 162 lbs
Titenburg continues to tow the backline with the grit and skill needed to stifle even the most powerful of attacks on a game to game basis. He has far surpassed his father's shadow when it comes to football and will likely not be forgotten any time soon.

9 Thankanion Elenelwa, Mar Sara FC
Age - 610
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180 lbs
A strong and physical presence that will put some bite into the backline alongside Titenburg.

Midfield

24 Espy va Drake, Yuba United (Paripana)
Age: 727
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than four countries clubs, and finally returned him when he signed with United before last season. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

21 Aintôrthea Durosa, Cafundó do Juta (Cafundeu)
Age - 736
Sex - F
Height: 5"10"
Weight: 144 lbs
Durosa is one of those players that can play just about any position, as her skill set is vast and adequate in multiple areas. She has done exceptionally well in her CMSC seasons, nabbing goals and assists with regularity and has continued with her transfer to the Cafundeu league. Her good knowledge of va Drake's typical playing patterns has made the two to be a devastating pair for the opposition to contain.

14 Laborious Hawk, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age - 691
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even began to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day.

8 Morronuth Neltanta, Wexax United ~
Age - 722
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 164 lbs
A strong and physical player who uses his body well when shielding off opposing players off the ball. Lacks the pace of some of the squad but is great at keeping possession and finding an outlet pass.

28 Faeron Soldarian, Raynor City United
Age - 605
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Strikers

6 Allandren Fresco, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age - 480
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco has proved once again that he is suited for any role that his managers wish to give him, easily adjusting to Hearts style of play and learning his preferred moves. A great shot and football IQ make him a very dangerous attacker for the Marauders.

11 Lucas Hearts, Hondo FC
Age - 864
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 153 lbs
Hearts is an out and out goalscorer who has a nose for the goal and a talent for getting open even in a crowded box. His skills work quite well with the skill set of Fresco, and it produces a lethal one two strike force that will put fear into the hearts of those teams that must face a proud Marauders squad.

Subs
2 GK Veryasirion Dart - age 666 - Raynor City United (M)
20 GK Belltarion Nartalhûn - age 696 - AC Valanari (M)
4 CB Tandion Aeraglinaeth - age 752 - Soldarian FC (M)
16 CB Ainglad Gwavaul - age 650 - Ousevale Borough (Krytenia) (M) ~
19 CB Artemis - age N/A - FC Therathor (N/A) *
22 AMC Innathwen Tathmin - age 821 - Club ESF (F)
7 MC Rochenion Falaval - age 736 - Club ESF (M)
3 LW Elarwen Tallaion - age 697 - Juavi FC (F)
5 LRW Tanna Norovathar - age 357 - FC Capri

10 ST Ardaugien Ealomiel - age 774 - Mar Sara FC (M)
15 ST Rharanthea Kithaldar - age 798 - Soldarian FC (F)

Captain: Laborious Hawk

(Evidently time must pass at a slower rate for this nation than it does for Bears Armed, because they’re still fielding a team whose composition is hardly changed at all from the one that made their international debut back in BoF33…)

Nation: ‘The Bear Islands’.
3-letter code: ‘YRU’.
Team nickname: 'the Braves'.

National Soccer Organisation: The ‘Team Chief’ (i.e. ‘Manager’) reports directly to the national government.
Home pitch: South Beach (This is only useable around low tide, which affects the timing of any games that ever get held there…).
Anthem: ‘We Are Best’.

Team Chief (= Manager): Listens-To-Parrots.
Medicine Man (= Doctor & Chaplain): Red Owl.
Physio: Moonshine (female).

______________________________________________________

This is the team’s starting line-up, until further notice _

Goalkeeper

Stands-Like-Oak (very tall, so that the ball’s unlikely to go over him & still be inside the net; good at reaching out to the sides without moving his feet much, too, although he can move around — and do so very well — if it’s really necessary…)

Defenders

Left: Stone Turtle
Centre: Turtle-Blue-Twin (actually a pair of identical twins, legally a single person under this nation’s own rules, who will generally remain close together and function as a single player…)
Right: Wide Boy

Defensive Midfielders

Left: Running Joke (seems to be as good at running sideways, or even backwards, as he is at running forwards… and is very likely to do so..)
Right: None-Shall-Pass (big and strong, but surprisingly agile for his size too; just promoted from ‘substitute’ to ‘starter’, and wants to prove himself…)

Offensive Midfielders

Left: Mighty-Like-A-Rose ('Game Chief', i.e. Captain)
Right: Harefoot (the team’s fastest runner)

Offenders
(Left to right…)

Running Bare (plays in minimal loin-cloth)
Head-in-Air (very tall, which is relevant for headers and high shots…)
Thunderbolt (takes kick-offs, and most ‘set pieces’)
White Lightning (another very fast runner; half-brother of ‘Moonshine’, the Physio…),

Substitutes

‘Utility’ (good in any & every position): Football-Wizard
"That deaf, dumb and blind Bear,
Sure plays a mean Football!"

Goalkeeper: Son-of-The-Moon
Defender/Defensive Midfielder: Leaping Walrus (wonderful moustache!
He was originally a 'starter’, ands wants to win that stataus back…)
Midfielder (Defensive/Offensive): Floats-Like-Butterfly
Midfielder (Offensive)/Offender: Stings-Like-Bee (non-identical twin of ‘Floats-Like-Butterfly’)
Offenders: Glows-in-the-Dark (one of the only two new additions to the team; he was on a fishing boat working downwind from Sorthern Northland when the latter nation self-destructed last year...)

Reserves

Defender: Monolith (the other new player, a very promising youngster, dark-furred)
Midfielder: Fast Girl (new to the squad, their first female player)
Offender: Hears-Strange-Ghosts (claims to be advised by spirits whom the team’s other members — and even their nation’s specialists in these matters — can’t detect… He was changed from ‘substitute’ to ‘reserve’, before the last AOCAF, due to perceived unreliability…), Son-of--the-Waves (a starting player until recently, but he was rather ill for much of the last year and there's soem concern about whether he's completely recovered yet).

(Their identifying numbers will be re-assigned before each match, on a complicated basis that I’m not going to explain here but might get around to describing in RP at some point…)

No more reserves have been named publicly yet, because to do that would be to imply that they would actually be needed which would be inviting bad luck, but they’ve probably brought a few along anyway….

______________________________________________________

Kit: The team plays in a variant of their normal clothing, rather than in a more ‘conventional’ kit. This consists of a ’churra’ (a sort of short poncho, that doesn’t extend far down the arms) in a red-&-black chequered pattern, held in place by a belt around the waist, with a leather breech-clout under this. They will play bare-footed, unless the organisers forbid this.
They don’t actually have an alternative kit: if circumstances mean that they can’t use their “first” one then they’ll play ‘topless’ instead…

______________________________________________________

If my opponent RPs first then
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Y
Godmod Scoring Events: Y
RP injuries to my players: Y, but nothing too serious without prior permission.
Godmod injuries to my players: Y, ditto.
Hand out Yellow cards to my players: Y
Hand out Red cards to my players: Y, but not more than 2/game without prior permission.
Godmod Other Events: Y, as long as it’s funny…

Comments

Yes, these are all ‘Ursines’, but unlike the members of Bears Armed's football team they’re all males. They’re a bit less civilised than most of the people from ’Bears Armed’, and their version of the ’harrdiharr’ actually involves brandishing war-clubs (unless their hosts say “No!” verrry firmly…). Expect a modest number of travelling supporters, arriving in large outrigger-canoes and catamaran-canoes and beating loudly on drums to accompany their chants during matches…

'Armed Beers National Team'

Each of this team’s players consists of a quart glass, containing a dark brown liquid with a frothy white ‘head’ (presumably Beer…) in which a pair of glowing [immaterial?] eyes float, that is hovering with its base somewhere between 5 feet & 6 feet off of the ground, with both a pair of identifying numbers and a pair of football boots in appropriate positions — but with the boots not quite touching the ground, even when the player is stationary — below this… and, for the goalkeeper, a pair of gloves (that are apparently filled with something , although you can’t see what that is…) suitably located as well. The eyes will remain paired, but can move freely within the fluid to let them see in any direction without actually needing to turn their “heads” around. They can briefly increase or decrease their height by up to half if this seems useful.
Yes, they can ‘head’ the ball without the glasses breaking or contents spilling, and close observation will reveal that in fact the ball bounces from an invisible surface about an inch off of their visible components when they do so: This surface also protects the glasses against getting broken. They cannot be tripped, and will not dive. Shooting the ball “through” one of them, between their head & their boots, is probably possible if & when they aren’t looking in the shooter’s direction but not if they are aware of the attempt in advance… although other team’s players will only discover this by trial & error.
They can manage throw-ins somehow, although nobody actually sees any hands...

They practice a balanced style, ±0.
They employ a 3-4-3 formation.

Goalkeeper = #1.
Defenders = #2 to #4, right to left.
Midfielders = #5 to #8, right to left.
Forwards = #9 to #11, right to left.

Substitutes = #12 to #18 (preferred positions not yet specified), but these will only be deployed if somebody actually finds a way of injuring one of the starters… and no, your players can’t drink the ‘beer’!

They have not yet supplied the names of their players — or even clarified whether they actually have individual names, anyway — and no manager or coaching staff have been identified so far either.
They haven't brought any supporters along, but don't seem to feel the lack...

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Y
Godmod Scoring Events: Y
RP injuries to my players: N, unless they have obtained prior permission.
Godmod injuries to my players: N, unless they have obtained prior permission.
Hand out Yellow cards to my players: Y, but only if this is acknowledged to be due to faulty (or biased) refereeing as this team will be playing strictly by the book…
Hand out Red cards to my players: N, unless they have obtained prior permission.
Godmod Other Events: Y, as long as it’s funny…

Team Name: The Icemark
Nickname: Bears Of The North
Player/Captain/Manager: Redrought Lindenshield

1. Lady Iphignea - Very small for a Goalkeeper. The weak link of the team. Doesn't lack effort but Poor at handling and a poor shot stooper.
2. Baron Cerdic - A Defensive minded Right back. Mostly solid but sometimes a bit casual and loses concentration.
3.Baron Athelstan - Powerfully built centreback whose strenth is defending in the air, but a bit on the slow side and has a poor first touch and lack of control.
4. Baroness Athelfladea - Reads the game very well and can put in precision tackles but not very strong and can be brushed off while in possesion
5. Wenlock Witchmother- Likes to get forward to support the left winger. Can pick out a thirty yard pass to the other side of the pitch.
6. White Annis - A pacey Attacking right winger that likes to take on left backs. Great at getting past defenders but lacks a decent delivery when crossing
7. Olememnon Stagapolous - Broad and powerfully built midfielder who terrifies defensive with his forward runs. The engine of the team and a tough tackler
8. Elemnestra Celeste - Versatile midfielder who can play in any position in the midfield. Stern, tall and composed midfielder. Excels at the cleaning up role in midfield but tends to Alternate between a defensive and attacking role with her central midfield partner
9. Lady Theowin - Pace is the best word to describe this attacking left winger whose two footed speed and dribbling abilty make them a menace for any rightback. Likes to come inside at times as well. A very acomplished crosser
10. Redrought Lindenshield -The Icemark's best all round player. Tall and powerfully built striker. Good in the air with a great leap and hard to get the ball off. Very hard hitting and excels at long range shooting.
11. Lady Celeste - A playmaking forward. small but Quick and agile. A smart striker that plays just off R. Lindenshield. Great awareness, very hard to get the ball off and a great abilty to make space on the edge of the penalty area with ingenious turns. Likes to find space from deep and run at defensive

Substitutes: 12. M. Sigurdson, 13. F. Gunnarson, 14. H. Osgood, 15. C. Cerdic, 16. L. Athel
